| ....they are not quite as sharp (or contrasty) as they might be. With digital cameras (that can't yet produce quite the quality of 35mm) you need a really good photo editing program (like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Photo-Paint) to get the best out of them. 1.The uneven border with the rolled-up effect is fun. The subject stands out well from the background, and the smile and the hat make the picture! I'd prefer it without the brown star and handwritten name, though, as they distract the attention, partly conceal the hat, and have a rather home-made look about them. 2. An appealing look, but I'd be inclined to get in really closer so that her head filled the picture. You can't get too close when photographing babies! 3. It might have been worth waiting for a rather more lively expression, unless you think this one is particularly characteristic. The empty top of the picture could have been removed. 4. Once again, I'd have got in a bit closer. But with digital imaging, you can easily do this using a suitable computer program, as shown below:
