"as seen by me.. wondering if there was something else i could have done to get a nicer shot? thanks" (Sharon Folan)

This looks pretty effective to me, although I don't think the large copyright notice does it any good! But almost any landscape shot is improved by some foreground framing. Here, silhouetted leaves from a tree in the immediate foreground might have added depth to the picture and so increased its appeal.
Sunset

"heres one i shot during sunset at santa monica pier" (Sharon)

Sunset at pier Another very effective picture with most attractive coloring. It was a very good idea to include the gulls - but it might have been better still if you'd been able to get even closer to them.

"This is point mugu in california Here is a photo i took recently ive been at photography 4 months now and am teaching myself if you can offer any feedback id appreciate it. thanks." (Sharon)

Coast
Coast cropped
Above left: I think this is the least interesting of the photos you sent me, as there doesn't seem a main point of interest. I've tried moving in closer (on the right) so as to reduce all that rather uninteresting rock in the left foreground, but I'm afraid the result still looks just a bit ordinary.

"here is another this one taken just below the cliffs at point mugu" (Sharon)

Wave breaking cropped
Wave breaking
Above left: you've caught the wave at just the right moment. A fine picture, although, as so often, I'd be inclined to get just a bit further in, as on the right. This adds even more to the dramatic effect. You've certainly made a very good start with these photos!

"Hi, My name is Bonnie and I am trying to get into photography. I was given a Canon EOS 620 which I love! These 3 pictures were ones I'd taken before reading up on anything. I hand colored 2 of them. The main ones I'd like you to take a look at are the 2 kids. I'm sorry I could not figure out how to shrink them (tells you how basic I am) so I put them on my website. My hubby scanned the girl and cat together as one picture so the scan is not the best, but I'd love to hear what you have to say. If you cannot take them from the site let me know and I'll e-mail the files, but I think the files are large. Thanks! I'm soooo excited to hear from you. :)" (Bonnie Creevy)

Girl's face
Girl
Both these pictures are fun. You've got in really close, but have still produced really natural looking pictures. The hand coloring seems to have almost entirely disappeared from the photo on the right, and I don't really think that the very slight tinge of color on the girl's forehead and cheeks adds to the photo's appeal. But I like her laugh! Both pictures would also have looked good in full color.

Cat
There's a little too much white pillow in your photo on the left, so I've tried moving in a bit closer on the right. Another really effective picture.

Reply from Bonny Creevy: "Thanks so much for adding my pictures. Regarding the picture with very little handcoloring. I didn't handcolor that one :) the color bits that are on it were just from my scanner. That picture was just black and white. Thanks again for your comments!"
