| "I have just recently become interested in photography and here are a few of my photos. Please give me your opinion on how to improve my photos." (Bekki Roberts) |

| Silhouettes against a sunset often look very attractive, and your photo (on the left) is perfectly pleasing, but I'm not sure whether you're more interested in the sky or the lighthouse. |

| Assuming you want the emphasis to be on the lighthouse, a vertical format might be more appropriate, so I've tried this. Of course, it might have been even better if you'd been able to wait until the light is on, as shown on the right! |

| You can't go far wrong with big close-ups of flowers, especially when the background is thrown out of focus, as here, but a bit of bright sunshine would have brought out the colors even more, as suggested by my version on the right, where I have increased the contrast.. |

| Your photo (on left) seemed rather dark so I lightened it a bit (on right). Although it was certainly a good idea to include the leaves as foreground framing, the result still isn't very exciting. as there doesn't seem all that much to look at. You really need some more interesting foreground object (perhaps something or someone typical of the place), as well as the mountain in the background, to capture the interest. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| If your son is the player holding the ball, you've done very well indeed! If not, it's not quite so good, because the rest of your picture seems a bit of a muddle, so I've tried moving in a bit closer (on the right) to cut down on the number of players with their backs towards us. Now No.15 is more firmly the centre of interest. The only remaining snag is that the figures do not stand out very clearly from the background. But it's a good start as you've picked a really dramatic moment. This night photo was taken at our favorite restaurant at Nags Head: |

| I think you've gone a bit over the top with your starburst effect as it completely dominates the picture. I know it's your favorite restaurant but this is overdoing it! I'd also suggest it might be better to come in rather closer, so that we can see it more clearly, and lose some of the empty black space around it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

A pleasing record, but once again, a little cropping might improve the picture. Try removing the empty space to the right of the boys, and above them. With the boy on the left, there seems to be what might be a stray hair (on the neg?) below his lips on the right. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
